Dear David,

Your articles were very useful to me. You gave me ideas and a positive attitude towards finding a job.
Thanks to your suggestions I have 5 job interviews lined up in the next few weeks and I'm sure there are more to come.

Thanks again.

Since I first launched Job-Hunting-Tips.com way back in 1999, the site has undergone various changes, but it's always been here to provide free and easily accessible advice to job seekers.

In February 2009, because of huge job losses affecting just about every commercial sector in almost every country in the world, I decided to give the site a bit of a face lift and rewrite much of the content.

The job market has changed in the past 10 years. There are now far more opportunities to get your job application in front of potential employers than ever before.

About David Carter

So, you've landed on Job-Hunting-Tips.com because you're either looking, or about to be looking for a new job.

You're probably wondering who I am.

Well, I spent a large part of my career in the recruitment industry here in the UK, recruiting people of all disciplines for companies of all sizes.

I began by working for a general executive recruitment agency and then moved into the temporary recruitment market where I supplied skilled labour for the UK construction industry.

After a few years, I moved into IT recruitment and for 10 years, ran my own successful IT Recruitment agency, supplying permanent and contract IT professionals, managers and board level directors to some of the largest companies in the UK.

In 2002, I gave up working full time in recruitment, to concentrate on my Internet Marketing business. I still have an interest in recruitment though and run several recruitment oriented web sites from where I offer professional recruitment services on a consultancy basis.

A small selection of those sites are:

IT Recruitment | Professional Recruitment | Freelance Recruiter

Candidate Screening | Sales Recruitment

Uniquely for a recruiter, I don't accept speculative applications and nor do I maintain a candidate database.

You'll see why as you read through the articles on this site, though part of the reason is that I am a one man operation these days and I work from home, so simply don't have the time available to maintain an ever growing candidate base.

Hopefully, when you've finished, you won't need to use a recruitment agency, since you'll be fully prepared to go out and attack the job market on your own - which, by the way, is just about the most effective thing you can do whilst looking for your next job.

Good luck!
